Korea Soulstream: is training life skills worth it?
✍️ Alice・愛麗沙
Korea’s Soulstream (소울스트림, no official English or Chinese name yet — TW has not shipped it), added with the S2 “Light and Dark” patch on 2026-06-25, sums every character on a server’s combat power, life power and charm into three server-wide totals. Those totals set how fast the server produces three currencies called Soul, which each player then spends individually on their own star board for permanent stat bonuses. The life-power column is a real, working answer to “is training life skills worth it”: the same stat life-skill training raises feeds directly into a server-wide production rate that everyone draws from. If you’re on TW or JP wondering whether to keep training production, Korea’s own system design says yes — and that answer doesn’t depend on this specific system ever reaching your server, because life-skill training already pays for itself locally.
What it is
Soulstream inverts the usual “grind X, get X’s reward” pattern. Instead, every character on a Korean server has its combat power (전투력), life power (생활력 — the same number life-skill training raises), and charm (매력) added into three separate server-wide totals. Those totals set the automatic production rate of three currencies, called Soul, one colour per stat:
| Soul colour | Stat it draws from | The five server-wide brackets | Auto-production per hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Soul (붉은 소울) | Combat power (전투력) | 1–50,000 / 50,000–100,000 / 100,000–150,000 / 150,000–180,000 / 180,000–200,000 | 0.018 → 0.108 Soul/h |
| Blue Soul (푸른 소울) | Life power (생활력 — the same stat life-skill training raises) | 1–30,000 / 30,000–60,000 / 60,000–90,000 / 90,000–120,000 / 120,000–140,000 | 0.018 → 0.108 Soul/h |
| Yellow Soul (노란 소울) | Charm (매력) | 1–20,000 / 20,000–50,000 / 50,000–80,000 / 80,000–110,000 / 110,000–130,000 | 0.018 → 0.108 Soul/h |
Source: namu.wiki's Soulstream page (the five-bracket table) + mabilife.com's guide (2026-07-29) + this site's own KR community scan (2026-08, which independently recorded the same 0.018–0.108/h shape). The sum is **server-wide**, not your own characters — mabilife says so in as many words: 「특정 캐릭터 6명만 집계되는 방식이 아니라 서버 내 캐릭터들의 능력치 합이 적용됩니다」 ("it is not that only 6 specific characters are counted; the sum of the characters within the server applies"). What is still open: no source publishes a live server's actual total, so nobody can say which rung a real server sits on — do not use these figures to work out "how much do I need to contribute". Membership adds 0.036/h and a connected star adds 0.054/h.
The blue row is the one worth sitting with. Korea did not invent a separate “production combat power” — it reused the exact same life-power number gathering, crafting and processing already raise. Every character that trains life skills is, whether its owner thinks about it or not, measurably speeding up the whole server’s Soul income.
Soul income has three paths: passive auto-production from the server-wide totals above, a weekly gold purchase capped at 30 per Soul colour per PLAYER, counted separately on each server (the Korean 「서버 단위로」 means “tracked per server”, not “the whole server shares 30”; cost rises with each purchase, and the community price ladder runs by cumulative count from 10,000 gold at purchases 1–600 to 112,000 at 1,801–2,000), and a paid package — KR guides name a package-point shop and a direct Soul-package purchase as real income sources, though no source this pass reached states the exact price, so no number is published here. A repeat-loot path is mentioned in passing but not sourced well enough to describe.
Soul is spent on a personal star board split into hangseong (major stars — powerful, individually levellable effects) and waeseong (minor stars — flat stat bonuses). Guides recommend auto-production stars first, then central attack-power stars, convenience, engraving-cost reduction, and supplementary stats early; main-content attack effects, class-specific combat stars, charm/life production conditions, and high-cost peripheral stars later. A reset (초기화) exists but costs real reconnection time, so treat it as a deliberate, rare action.
What this means for you today, before TW or JP has it
Keep training life skills — this doesn’t need Soulstream to actually arrive to pay off. Life-skill training already earns its keep locally through potion sales, crafting chains, and guild-ship processing demand (see our existing Guild Ship guide). Soulstream adds one more reason on top: Korea’s own system design proves life power can be consumed by a server-scale mechanic for something combat-adjacent, not just wallet money. That’s a real, working precedent — not speculation.
Safe to ignore for now: the exact star-priority order and node costs. Those are personal, per-character choices that won’t compound by reading them early, and if TW ever gets a version of this system its exact numbers may not match Korea’s anyway. What’s worth carrying forward is the shape of the argument — production stats can feed something server-wide — not a memorised click order.
What would change this advice. This recommendation does not assume Soulstream itself ever reaches TW or JP on any particular timeline — or at all. Our own Guild Ship article already documents a system Korea shipped on 2025-08-21 that still was not live on Taiwan’s server a year later after a brief accidental opening and an emergency rollback. TW’s first legendary-fashion wave also skipped straight to Korea’s round 5, proving Korea’s own release order is not a promise either. Lag predicts the shape of what’s coming, never a date — so the part of this advice that depends on nothing but “keep training life skills you’d train anyway” holds regardless; only a hypothetical future article about TW’s own exact Soulstream numbers would need Korea’s system to arrive unchanged to stay correct.
Other KR-only systems in this pass
Soulstream isn’t the only mechanical gap. This pass also verified several other Season 2 systems Korea has that neither TW nor JP has shipped:
| System (Korean name) | What it does | KR date |
|---|---|---|
| 룬 10성(신화) | Rune star ceiling extended from 8성 to 10성(신화 grade); rune-word, memory-engrave and transcend-engrave effects only apply from 10성 전설 (legendary) up. | 2026-06-25 |
| 마도 압력 / 마도 저항 | A new gear-check stat pair: zone/dungeon 'mado pressure' vs a character's 'mado resistance' — when resistance exceeds the zone's pressure, final damage is amplified up to +40%; falling short works against the player the same way. | 2026-06-25 |
| 시즌 스킬 「밤의 흔적」 | A season-wide skill separate from class skills: reaching level 15 unlocks 밤의 축복 (Night's Blessing), a 15-second buff on a 60-second cooldown that the whole S2 emblem/rune meta is built around. | 2026-06-25 |
| 침식 (erosion) 룬 | A new rune category that stacks a value of +5/sec for every 2 equipped; efficient use tops out around wearing 3. | 2026-06-25 |
| 룬 워드 (S1/S2 상호 배타) | Activating an S2 rune-word DEACTIVATES the S1 rune-word — a strict loss to switch until the S2 stat total catches up to what the S1 set was giving. S1 legendary/epic runes DO convert to S2 runes via 승급 with no growth loss, but rune-WORD compatibility is a separate question from rune conversion. | 2026-06-25 |
| 각성 쿨다운 단축 | Awakening skill cooldown cut from 90 seconds to 60 seconds server-wide with the S2 patch. | 2026-06-25 |
| 전설 천장 | A legendary-tier pity ceiling for fashion/pet gacha was added and credited RETROACTIVELY to prior pulls. | 2026-06-25 |
| 카브락 (Kavrak) 레이드 | New S2 raid; entry roughly 65,000 combat power + ~2,000 resistance, solo mode exists, mechanics include baiting ground telegraphs and preserving rock pillars for a laser phase. | 2026-07-16 |
| 별자리 | The star board INSIDE Soulstream, not a separate system: stars are connected outward from a centre and the connected stars form 별자리 granting permanent bonuses. Connecting a 항성 (major star) consumes ALL THREE Soul colours; a 왜성 (minor star) consumes one designated colour. Connection takes real time (왜성 1 min, 항성 5 min) and cost rises with distance from the centre. | 2026-06-25 |
This table lists only verified cross-cutting SYSTEMS, kept separate from content drops (new classes, raids, etc.) already tracked elsewhere — each row carries its own confidence label and sourcing.
Each of these gets its own deep-dive article as our verification work catches up — this table is the summary, not the final word.
