Season handover: what you keep and what resets
Korea moved from Season 1 to Season 2 on 2026-06-25, and whatever was going to be lost was lost then. Taiwan has announced no content season at all, so every "expected on Taiwan" cell below is inference — only the Korean half carries dates and sources.
The dates: Korea has three, Taiwan has one
All from Nexon's own notices and update pages. The Taiwan row is empty because no such notice exists.
| Event | Date | Since the row above |
|---|---|---|
| Korea launches | 2025-03-27 | — |
| Korea Season 1 (Myth of Light · Paladin) | 2025-09-25 | 182 days |
| Korea Season 2 «Light and Darkness» | 2026-06-25 | 273 days |
| Taiwan launches | 2026-07-22 | — |
| Taiwan's first season | never announced | — |
This is arithmetic, not a forecast: Korea took 182 days from launch to its first season. Taiwan is on day 29 as of 2026-08-20. What the same number of days means for Taiwan, nobody has published.
This site does not turn "Korea took N days" into a Taiwanese date. Taiwan's update cadence is Nexon Taiwan's to set, and copying the day count only produces a precise-looking wrong answer.

Row by row: what actually happened in Korea
Left is the thing, middle is the Korean fact with its date and source, right is the inference for Taiwan. The grey badge in the middle column is the evidence grade: official notice, a player's verbatim repost of one, community wiki, player testing, or not found.

| Runes (legendary / mythic) you keep it, but… | Korea 2026-06-25 player repost of an official notice player testing Not confiscated — but "how much longer can I use them" became the question. Season 2 extended runes from 8 to 10 stars (mythic); per the showcase write-ups, promoting a Season 1 epic or legendary rune into its Season 2 version keeps the enhancement value, and Nexon ran a three-week promotion-support event alongside. Season 1 and Season 2 rune words sit on separate pages and cannot be selected across. The real gap is magic resistance: only 9-star epic runes and above carry it natively, Season 1 runes do not, so holding on to old runes means holding no ticket into hell difficulty. The famous "rolling back to 8-star runes was 30% faster" test needs reading carefully — both runes he rolled back to were already transcended and the 10-star pair was not, so that is a transcendence gap, not a generation gap. Several players also relayed from the 2026-08-12 stream that Season 1 runes will be blocked from new content; nothing official or in the press corroborates that. gamemeca 1776772 「전설 천장 포함, 마비노기 모바일 시즌 2 상세 정보」 2026-06-19 · Inven webzine 317635 「[종합] 신규 사냥터부터 성장 요소까지 '마비노기 모바일 시즌2'」 2026-06-19 · Inven 6259/7502 「시즌2 콘텐츠 변경 사전 안내」 2026-06-22 · ruliweb 300143_76301762 2026-08-13 · ruliweb 300143_76292688 · 76292720 · 76293333 2026-08-12 | inference Expect old runes to stay yours, enhancement included. What to prepare for is the new stat the new runes carry (magic resistance in Korea), not the preservation of the old runes themselves — and expect old and new rune words to be two separate pages. Nexon Taiwan has published no season rule for runes. |
| Enhancement levels you keep it | Korea 2025-09-24 player repost of an official notice Kept, and specifically promised. The day before Season 1 went live the director posted a separate notice about enhancement values being preserved, and stated the reason plainly: enhancement is tied directly to what players have built up over a long time. Korean press coverage of Season 2 says the same thing — Season 1 epic and legendary runes carry their enhancement into their Season 2 versions. But "your enhancement is kept" and "the new rune is better" are two different claims, and Korea's opening showed the difference. After Season 2 went live, players measuring it found their Season 1 runes were actually stronger early on; the team acknowledged this on the 8/12 broadcast and put Season 1 transcendence materials back on sale. So the question a season change really raises is not "will my enhancement survive" but "is the new rune worth switching to yet" — in Korea those had different answers. The action that actually costs you a level is overwriting with a rune one grade higher, and that has nothing to do with seasons. |
| The rune-combining rules themselves the rules get rewritten | Korea 2025-09-25 player repost of an official notice The rules get rewritten. Korea's 2025-09-25 Season 1 update replaced the whole outcome table: 5-star epics no longer needed a catalyst and now returned 10% 6-star legendary / 40% 6-star elite / 50% 5-star rare, and 6-star legendaries — previously a dead end — became 40% 7-star epic / 60% 6-star elite. The guide consensus at the time was one line: stop dismantling, combine. Inven 6366/577 「시즌 1 업데이트 패치 노트 요약」 §22 2025-09-24 | inference Taiwan is running the old rules. Expect a handover to change the rules rather than take your runes, which makes both "hoard everything until the new rules" and "dismantle everything now" a gamble. |
| Transcendence engraving and its materials you keep it, but… | Korea 2026-06-25 player repost of an official notice player testing The engraving stays; the materials become last generation. Season 2 added a higher tier of transcendence engraving matched to 10-star runes, and the showcase write-up states flatly that the old transcendence materials cannot be used on 10-star runes. The community wiki records the same shift: rune words, memory engraving and transcendence apply from 10-star legendary in Season 2, and from 8-star legendary in Season 1. The 6/22 notice then blocked Season 0 and Season 1 unidentified gear and Season 1 transcendence materials from being listed on the exchange, returned existing listings by mail with the listing fee refunded, removed the crafting recipes, and temporarily raised the NPC sale price — an invitation to liquidate. Two months later, with the new runes underperforming, Nexon put those materials back on sale; but that 2026-08-13 update note lives only on a site this project does not scrape, so it has no second source and counts as a player claim. Expect the thing to watch to be the materials going obsolete rather than the engraving disappearing: what Korea closed was the exchange, the crafting bench and the eligible star tier, not the effect already engraved. The wiki adds one more line worth knowing — engraving a rune of a different star tier or rarity onto a transcended slot releases the transcendence and refunds the materials (gold excluded). |
| Abyss floor progress and weekly settlement it ends | Korea 2026-07-02 player repost of an official notice The whole instance ends; it is not downgraded. Per the 6/22 notice, Bari Abyss, Glas Ghaibhleann and Tabarta all terminated at Season 2. Bari's final week ran 6/29 06:00 to 7/2 05:49, and the notice states that if you did not clear inside that window, no settlement loot was paid. Runda Abyss opened 7/2 with its first settlement pushed to 7/13, then back to every Monday 06:00. Difficulty has to be unlocked again: the new abyss gates Hard and above behind its own time attacks, and how far you got in the old one does not carry across. Inven 6259/7502 「시즌2 콘텐츠 변경 사전 안내」 2026-06-22 · Inven 6259/6594 「마스 어비스 마지막 정산 및 바리 어비스 진행 가능 조건 안내」 2025-10-02 · Inven 6259/6294 「마스 어비스 종료 및 바리 어비스 오픈 사전 안내」 2025-09-20 | inference The Mas Abyss Taiwan is running now is exactly what Korea wound down this way. Expect the final week before a handover to be the one where the weekly settlement has to be finished — no clear, no reward for that week — and expect the new abyss to make you unlock its difficulties from the bottom rather than inheriting your old ones. |
| Abyss achievements and titles you keep it, but… | Korea 2026-07-02 player repost of an official notice The contents migrate; the achievements themselves are deleted. The 6/22 notice carries a 16-row mapping table pairing every difficulty of the old abyss achievements to the new ones, and states that for title achievements with a passive effect the clear status, the progress count and the title all transfer as-is. But the old abyss achievements were deleted at the 7/2 maintenance, after which their support items could no longer be claimed — the notice asks players to claim them first. Inven 6259/7502 「시즌2 콘텐츠 변경 사전 안내」 2026-06-22 | inference Expect the titles and progress you earned to carry over, but expect nothing unclaimed to wait for you. When a handover notice appears, the first job is emptying achievement rewards, the mailbox and pass tier rewards. |
| Abyss currency and tokens it ends | Korea 2026-07-02 player repost of an official notice The currency stays in your bag; what you could spend it on disappears first. The 6/22 notice states that the shop items purchasable with the old abyss fossils and red abyss fossils were deleted at the 7/2 maintenance, and asks players to exchange in advance. Nothing was auto-converted. The previous handover (the 2025-09-20 notice) did give conversion ratios — so Korea's pattern is: convert at the handover, then delete the exchange route one cycle later. Tokens were consolidated: the per-instance kill tokens were deleted on 7/2 and merged into a single one, and raid shop tokens became a 100-gold box each once their shops closed. Event tokens ignore seasons entirely and expire only with their event. Inven 6259/7502 「시즌2 콘텐츠 변경 사전 안내」 2026-06-22 · Inven 6259/6294 「마스 어비스 종료 및 바리 어비스 오픈 사전 안내」 2025-09-20 · Inven 6259/7523 「이상한 고양이의 여정 상점 이벤트 안내」 2026-06-25 | inference Expect Taiwan to work the same way: the shop closes first, and the currency becomes waste paper in your bag. When a handover notice lands, read the shop's item table rather than checking that your currency is still there. Taiwan's fixed-price exchange for red abyss fossils has not opened yet, so there is nothing to hoard today. |
| Abyss ranking and the weekly ladder no answer | not found Not found. Hell difficulty is a clear-time ranking that resets every Monday at 06:00, but neither the 6/22 pre-notice nor the previous handover's notice says a single word about what happens to the ranking in the changeover week — no wipe clause, no payout clause. | inference There is nothing to reason from. If you are chasing the ladder, this is the one row where even Korea has no answer. |
| Legendary fashion it ends | Korea 2026-06-25 player repost of an official notice community wiki What you are wearing does not vanish; what has a deadline is whether you can still obtain it — and the generation changes are not tied to seasons. Korea's legendary fashion runs in six generations of roughly three months: the six changeovers were 84, 98, 84, 98, 91 and 84 days apart, every one on a Thursday maintenance, and only two of them happened to land on a season start. The 2026-06-25 notice states that a per-slot legendary fashion box resolves at the moment of use and gives only the current generation, with a worked example: open one on 6/26 and the previous generation is not obtainable. Older sets keep working and were in fact buffed — the 3-piece effect was raised to match the new generation, and the 4-piece matches too except for the newly added +3% final damage, which the notice says outright will not be backported. The same notice paid out every combine and promotion failure between 2025-03-27 and 2026-06-25 as shards (5 per combine failure, 7 per promotion failure, 7 per pet promotion failure, auto-converting at 100), with the mail expiring 2026-12-31 23:59. Whether combining can still produce that generation afterwards is not written anywhere for Taiwan; by Korea's rule, it cannot. The second inference is cadence — Korea's generations do not wait for a season, so Taiwan's next generation may well change before any season does. Finish the set you want inside its window. | Adventurer pass it resets | Korea 2026-06-25 player repost of an official notice The one thing explicitly stated to be destroyed. Korea's adventurer pass rolled its own cycle alongside Season 2 (2026-06-25 to 08-06, 70 tiers, tracked per character). Rewards you earned but did not claim are mailed if you log in within 7 days of the end — but a premium ticket you bought and never activated is destroyed when the period ends, and the premium tier's unclaimed rewards are not mailed either. Inven 6259/7509 「6/25(목) 신규 모험가 프리미엄 패스 안내」 2026-06-25 | published by Nexon Taiwan This row is not inference, and Taiwan's rule is word-for-word Korea's. Taiwan's first pass season ran 2026-07-22 to 08-19 05:59 (50 tiers) and the second from the 08-19 maintenance to 09-09 05:59 (70 tiers); the notice states that once the period ends the premium ticket item is destroyed and unclaimed premium rewards are not sent by mail. | Character and class levels you keep it | Korea 2026-06-25 community wiki Nothing reset. Season 2 raised the character level cap from 85 to 100, as the Korean games press reported across the board, and the 6/22 pre-notice — which enumerates everything the handover touches — contains no line about levels, class levels, stats or skill levels being reset. The Season 1 precedent was the same: additions only. betanews beta202606260083 2026-06-26 · gamemeca 1776772 2026-06-19 · Inven webzine 317635 「[종합] 신규 사냥터부터 성장 요소까지 '마비노기 모바일 시즌2'」 2026-06-19 | inference Expect levels not to be wiped. But note what this row rests on: the notice contains no such clause, which is not the same as a notice saying it will not happen. Nothing announced is not the same as something promised. |
| Mystic dice gear and its floor you keep it, but… | player repost of an official notice community wiki The dungeon survives; its output follows the season. Mystic dungeons are still there in Season 2, and the community wiki records that they pay out in that season's runes and that season's transcendence essence — so Season 1 and Season 2 essences are different items. Keys now drop from the new Season 2 field boss, and the showcase added bulk dice opening. The gear was not renumbered, it was outclassed: per the showcase, the new magic-resistance gear outperforms mystic dice gear and is Season 2's top tier. The only clause touching old gear is that Season 0 and Season 1 unidentified equipment could no longer be listed on the exchange from 6/25. As for the floor — Nexon has never published a floor rule for mystic dice in either season, so Korea has no answer to that one either. gamemeca 1776772 「전설 천장 포함, 마비노기 모바일 시즌 2 상세 정보」 2026-06-19 · namu.wiki 마비노기 모바일/던전 §2.4 미스틱 던전 (2026-07-15) · Inven 6259/7502 「시즌2 콘텐츠 변경 사전 안내」 2026-06-22 | inference Expect the floor you have already opened to be left alone, but expect a new season to bring dice with bigger numbers and a new gear line that make today's floor look low. That is being outclassed, not being reset. Also expect old unidentified gear to lose the exchange route first. Taiwan's mystic dice rules were worked out by players in the first place. |
| Guild ship progress no answer | not found Not found, and the silence is total. The 6/22 notice enumerates the handover's changes item by item and never once says guild or ship; the seven categories of change in the showcase summary do not include guilds either. Nobody in the Korean community has complained about guild progress being touched. | inference Expect no effect. This is the weakest-evidence row on the page — all it rests on is Korea's silence. |
"Expected on Taiwan" is this site reasoning from Korea's experience, not something Nexon Taiwan said. Apart from the adventurer pass row, Taiwan has published none of this.
About the Korean column's sourcing: the Korean site redirects non-Korean IPs, and the web archive holds no capture of any Korean notice between June and August 2026. Every Korean notice cited here therefore comes from Inven, where staff repost Nexon notices in full — not from reading Nexon's own page, and not compared word-for-word against the original.
Five things to do before a handover
Each one is followed by the Korean evidence. Until Taiwan announces a handover this is a "do it when the notice appears" list, not a to-do list for today.
- Finish the abyss weekly settlement in the final week. Korea's 6/22 notice set Bari Abyss's last week at 6/29 06:00 to 7/2 05:49 and stated that no settlement loot would be paid to anyone who did not clear inside it. The previous handover (2025-10-02) used the same wording.
- Empty the mailbox, the achievement rewards and the pass tiers. Korea deleted the old abyss achievements on 7/2, and the notice warned that their support items could not be claimed afterwards. Pass rewards you earned but did not claim have only a 7-day grace period.
- Look at the shop before you look at your currency. Korea deleted the old abyss fossil shop items on 7/2, told players to exchange in advance, and auto-converted nothing. Currency sitting in your bag is worthless once there is nothing to buy with it.
- Activate the pass the moment you buy it. Taiwan already has this one in writing: a premium ticket bought but never activated is destroyed when the season ends, with no compensation and no restoration. Korea's clause reads the same. Taiwan's second season runs to 2026-09-09 05:59.
- Finish the legendary fashion generation you want inside its window. Korea's 2026-06-25 notice: once the generation changes, even the per-slot legendary fashion box gives only the current one. Taiwan's first set has a published window ending 2026-09-09 05:59.
Two things Korea's experience says you do not need to do: stop combining runes to wait for the new season, and rush to dismantle old runes for materials. What a handover takes is the things that were only exchangeable for a limited time, and the weekly settlement you did not finish — not the things you built.
The one season Taiwan really does roll: the adventurer pass
Nexon Taiwan has never announced a content season, but the word 賽季 does appear in its notices — in exactly one place, the adventurer pass, whose own notice says the pass runs on a season system. Taiwan's first ran 2026-07-22 to 08-19 05:59 (50 tiers, 28 days) and the second from the 08-19 maintenance to 09-09 05:59 (70 tiers, 21 days). The two differ in length, so "a season is N days" is not a fixed number on Taiwan; Korea's equivalent cycle was 42 days.
What resets: unclaimed tier rewards have to be collected inside the period, and a premium ticket bought but never activated is destroyed when the period ends, with the premium tier's unclaimed rewards not sent by mail either. It is the only Taiwanese season rule that uses the word destroyed — and Korea's notice says the same thing.
The burning week starts one week before the end (double points, triple with premium active), so anyone planning to clear every tier has to have premium switched on before it begins.
