Korea's Night's Trace: the 15-second window behind emblems
✍️ Alice・愛麗沙
Korea’s S2 season skill Night’s Trace (밤의 흔적, no official English name yet — TW has not shipped it), added with the “Light and Dark” patch, is entirely independent of class choice — every character follows the same single progression track regardless of build. Reaching level 15 unlocks a buff called Night’s Blessing: 15 seconds of duration, 60-second cooldown. Korea’s entire S2 emblem/rune-word meta is organised around that 15-second window — the clearest case is the repeated-hit emblem Liberation, whose value climbs from a base of roughly 25% to roughly 40% while the buff is active.
What this means for TW today: there is no equivalent skill slot on TW yet, so the practical takeaway is conceptual, not numeric — a season system unrelated to class choice is coming, and it will reshape which emblems rank as “best” the same way it already has in Korea. Nothing needs stockpiling and nothing needs memorising yet, but it’s worth understanding TW’s current emblem picture now (see our Emblem Basics guide) so the reshuffle is legible when it happens.
The caveat: Korea’s own release order is not a promise TW inherits on schedule — Guild Ship went live in Korea on 2025-08-21 and still wasn’t properly live on TW a year later. This article can tell you the shape of what’s coming; it cannot tell you when.
The question TW’s emblem discussion is asking, and the shape Korea’s system gives it
TW players discussing emblems today are mostly asking a static ranking question — which emblem is strongest, which is worth investing in — as if the answer were a fixed number. Korea’s Night’s Trace demonstrates that this question may be missing a dimension: an emblem’s value doesn’t just depend on its base number, it can depend on whether it has a trigger window at all — and TW currently has no mechanic that produces trigger windows, because it doesn’t have this system yet.
What Night’s Trace is: a season skill that doesn’t care what class you play
Korea’s Night’s Trace, added 2026-06-25 with S2 “Light and Dark,” works differently from every other skill system in this game. Every other skill is tied to class — what you can slot, what you can modify a rune into, depends on what you chose. Night’s Trace isn’t — it’s a season-wide system with one progression track, identical no matter which class the character plays. There is no “which class benefits most from training this” question, because the answer is the same for all of them.
Levelling the skill to 15 unlocks the buff Night’s Blessing: 15 seconds of duration on a 60-second cooldown. Do the arithmetic and the buff is active for a quarter of any given cycle, with the other 45 seconds spent at base numbers. That one shape — a quarter of the time, on a clock — is the reason emblem rankings are about to get reshuffled.
The emblem table: why Liberation hits 40% inside this 15-second window
| Emblem (Korean name) | Tier | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 영원한 밤 | SSS | 34–35% | Also reduces corruption (오염) buildup. |
| 위대함 | S | not sourced | Built around 강타 (strong hits); no percentage figure sourced this pass. |
| 초월 | — | not sourced | Named as one of the "big four" but this pass found no tier grade for it at all. |
| 해방 | S | 25–40% | Built around 연타 (repeated hits); base ~25%, rising to ~40% during the 밤의 축복 buff window. |

The row worth sitting with is Liberation — base roughly 25%, climbing to roughly 40% during the 15 seconds Night’s Blessing is active, which is about 60% stronger inside the window than outside it (40 divided by 25 is 1.6). Same emblem, same investment, and purely whether you’re standing inside a 15-second window or not can swing real combat output that much.
Eternal Night carries the highest tier grade (SSS) and also reduces corruption buildup, but this pass found no source stating whether its number itself shifts with the buff window — it reads more like a consistently strong pick regardless of timing, though that isn’t confirmed either way. Greatness is a strong-hit-focused emblem tiered S, but no exact percentage was sourced this pass. Transcendence is the thinnest of the four — it’s named as part of the same “big four” set, but this pass found no tier grade or percentage for it at all. If a reader has it, we want to hear it; until then, no number is invented to fill the gap. One community note worth carrying: guidance at research time flagged Platinum Scale as one to avoid specifically for bard/musician builds — a player judgment, not an official figure.
What to do on TW today
Nothing needs stockpiling, and nothing needs memorising yet. Night’s Trace consumes the skill’s own level, not a material anyone could pre-farm — there’s no “do X now” checklist here, because TW doesn’t have even a rough version of this system yet.
One thing worth doing: get a clear picture of TW’s current emblem ranking. TW’s emblem environment today is the “before Night’s Trace” version — see our Emblem Basics guide for what currently exists. When TW eventually gets something like this system, that ranking is likely to reshuffle, and the underlying logic — some emblems get re-valued because they carry a “spikes inside a window” design — is worth understanding now, ahead of the system itself arriving.
Safe to ignore for now: the exact emblem percentages and Korea’s own training-order details. Greatness and Transcendence aren’t even fully sourced yet, and even where they are, those are Korea’s current-patch numbers — TW’s eventual version will likely differ, possibly even in design, not just value. Memorising them today doesn’t compound.
What would change this advice
Being honest about the biggest risk in any forward-looking guide: what Korea has is not a guarantee of what TW gets, or when.
Our own Guild Ship article already documents a real case: Guild Ship went live in Korea on 2025-08-21; TW had a brief, accidental 19-hour opening on 2026-08-05 that was rolled back the next day at emergency maintenance, and as of this writing — a year later — Guild Ship still isn’t properly live on TW. Separately, TW’s first legendary-fashion wave skipped straight to Korea’s round 5, jumping over every round in between — Korea’s own release order isn’t a promise TW follows it. Lag predicts the shape of what’s coming, never a date — the same rule applies to Night’s Trace. It might arrive with the next major patch, or it might sit unannounced for over a year the way Guild Ship did.
This advice holds up regardless, because it doesn’t depend on Night’s Trace arriving on any particular schedule — “understand TW’s current emblem logic” pays off even if Night’s Trace never ships on TW at all. What would actually go stale is Korea’s exact percentages and training-order details, and that’s already flagged as safe to ignore.
Our conclusion
The one line worth remembering about Night’s Trace: it turns “which emblem is strongest,” the static question TW players are asking today, into a dynamic one that Korea has already answered by design — an emblem’s strength can swing hard around a 15-second window instead of sitting at one fixed percentage. That conclusion doesn’t need Night’s Trace to actually reach TW to be useful right now — it can change how you read an emblem ranking today: understand TW’s current emblem logic; don’t memorise Korea’s training-order details yet. The one caveat worth keeping is that Korea’s own release order isn’t a promise — Guild Ship already proved the answer can be “not on schedule, not even close” — so this article is a direction, not a launch-date commitment.
