Titles are not cosmetic: the cheapest permanent power in the game
✍️ Alice・愛麗沙
⚠️ Title mechanics below are cross-verified from KR official system notes and community compilations; catalogue counts and values are computed from our own database against the TW server’s current availability. The stat-to-combat-power conversion is a KR community formula whose sources disagree, so those figures are shown as ranges by design. Catalogue counts (253/163/59 below) are a snapshot re-checked 2026-09-01 — this page is a static file, not a live query, so the title catalogue can add entries between updates; the Traditional Chinese sibling articles read these same counts from a build-time database query instead, which is the more durable version of this same fact.
One title, two channels — and the invisible one is the valuable one
Every title carries up to two effects, and they are separate systems wearing one name:
- Equip effect: only the single title displayed on your name applies. This channel is a slot to optimise — wear whichever your class wants today.
- Ownership effect: applies permanently at the moment of acquisition, needs no equipping, stacks across every title you own — and is shared by every character on the server.
The ownership channel gets underestimated for a mechanical reason: the screen only ever shows the title you equip. Ownership bonuses never appear on stage; they sit silently in your stat sheet, and invisible numbers get treated as nonexistent. But summed across the catalogue they are one of the largest free stat pools in the game: collect every ownership-effect title TW currently offers and the passive channel alone totals about ATK +802 and HP +1,210, before the other stats.
The current census (computed from our title database, re-checked 2026-10-02): the KR catalogue holds 253 titles; 153 are obtainable on TW today, 53 of those carry ownership effects — those 53 are the actual to-do list. Titles trigger automatically when their condition is met; the exceptions are event-item titles, which expire with their events.
The route: 675 first, everything else after
If you rank every ownership title by stat-per-effort, one target sits alone at the top: cumulative class level 675, which awards the “Versatile” title — ownership ATK +275, DEF +275, roughly 412.5 combat power by the KR display-weights. It costs no money at all, and it’s the single best-value investment our what-to-upgrade ranking has ever computed.
Why it’s cheap is the interesting part. Cumulative class level sums your classes’ levels — and the levelling curve steepens sharply per class, so 18 classes at a modest average is drastically cheaper than a few classes pushed high. Breadth is cheap; depth is expensive. Since class follows your equipped weapon and every class banks its level forever, the route is: rotate through classes you don’t even play (Spirit’s Traces can be spent on an unused class directly from the class menu), and let the sum climb.
Know where the cliff is: the next rung, “All-round Genius” at 975 (ownership max HP +800), costs so much more per point that its efficiency is roughly 1/12th of the 675 leg (≈0.0021 vs ≈0.026 combat power per Spirit’s Trace; an earlier version of this page said 1/37th, an arithmetic error corrected 2026-10-02). Take 675 deliberately; treat 975 as a background accumulation, not a goal.
Two bonus payouts ride the same grind, both KR-documented: a pair of weapon runes whose bonuses charge only from levelled classes (up to +24% attack on one; a threshold-count of levelled sword classes on the other) — power that cannot be bought or rolled, only levelled for.
Alts are title farms
Because ownership effects are account-shared per server, a title earned on an alt buffs your main — this is why the KR meta farms titles on alts rather than treating them as storage mules. Combine it with the per-character daily caps elsewhere in the game (barter runs, ward charges) and an alt pays twice: its own economy, plus permanent stats mailed upstream.
The equip channel, meanwhile, needs no route at all: 87 TW-obtainable titles carry a Luck equip line and 50 carry Dexterity — check what your class scales with, wear the best one, done. Only one applies at a time, so “collecting” equip effects is a category error.
What to check before trusting any title number — including ours
- Combat-power conversions are ranges on purpose. The display-CP formula is KR community measurement (attack ×1, defence ×0.5, HP ×0.25); the sub-stat weight is disputed between sources (0.3 vs 0.6), so we print ranges and never average the two.
- Not everything in the KR catalogue is reachable on TW. 18 Bari-abyss titles can never be earned on TW — the abyss rotates seasonally and TW runs Mars. KR-only titles are excluded from every ceiling figure above.
- Whether TW has the third rung (cumulative 1,205) is unconfirmed: no TW source lists it, and we don’t infer it from KR’s calendar.
The full searchable catalogue — every effect, condition and TW-availability flag, plus a tick-list that totals your owned bonuses in-browser — is the title codex. Tick what you own; the calculator shows what’s still on the table, which for most players is several hundred combat power sitting in plain sight, unclaimed because it never showed up on screen.
