Priest build: the class Korea nerfed, Taiwan still has

✍️ Alice・愛麗沙

Quick answer

Every number on this page is Taiwan-server data — there is no official English service, so English pages on this site show what Taiwan has and say so. On that server, Priest is in its best patch. Two loadouts share one core: weapon Thousand Swords, armour Sacred Discipline / Mana Torrent / Rock Giant / Dirty Blow, accessories Ray of Light (skill 5) and Wings (skill 2) — both mandatory — with the third slot a free pick between Bond (skill 1) and Wheel (skill 3). The split is the last two slots: DPS priest takes the Brand of Ruin + Resonating Crystal armour pair and the Brilliance emblem; heal priest takes Silver Spire boots and the Wisdom emblem. Mods run 1·3·5 or 2·3·5, both live. Level-30 skill enhancement goes 2 first — it is the one skill both playstyles use. And if you only get one epic rune this season, make it Wings.

Why Wings is worth spending a guaranteed pull on

Most classes have several epic-grade runes competing for the same budget. Priest has one that the Korean guide community agrees on without argument, and the recommendation is unusually specific: spend your pity — the guaranteed-acquisition mechanic — on Wings.

Wings replaces skill 2 (Divine Wing) with Heaven’s Door, taking it from a 2-target heal to 4 targets × 6 ticks. A heal priest without it is missing a limb. A DPS priest still wants it, because the rebuilt skill 2 is what keeps the rotation moving between damage windows. One rune, both playstyles, no wrong purchase — that is rare enough to plan around.

It also answers the question people actually ask, which is whether Priest is an expensive class. It has the same epic-tier wall every class has, but only one of its epics is irreplaceable, so the budget concentrates instead of spreading. That makes it easier to plan than a class with two mandatory epics.

The full sheet, slot by slot

Slot Rune Notes
weapon Thousand Swords (Legend★6) Each sword-using class that reaches class level 40 adds 4% ATK, stacking up to 6 times.
hat Sacred Discipline (Legend★6, prototype) Using a Support skill raises ATK and the healing power you give allies by 4% each for 10s, stacking up to 3 times. (Healer-line classes only)
top Mana Torrent (Legend★6) Each skill use raises ATK by 3.5% for 5s, stacking up to 4 times.
Bottoms Rock Giant (Legend★6) Smash hits raise ATK by 3%, stacking up to 3 times. At 3 stacks, all are consumed for +20% ATK for 5s.
gloves Dirty Blow (Legend★6, prototype) A counter-attack hit raises ATK by 24% for 4s.
shoes Silver Spire (Legend★6·Hell) Healing an ally raises damage dealt by 5% for 15s, stacking up to 3 times. (cooldown 5s)
necklace Bond+ (Legend★6) [Skill Modification 1] Changes the Priest's Summon Linker skill. When the Linker heals or damages according to what it is linked to, you recover some holy power. Using any skill other than Summon Linker has a chance to trigger the Linker again.
ring 1 Wheel+ (Legend★6) [Skill Modification 3] Changes the Priest's Celtic Cross skill. When Celtic Cross lands, its symbol moves more slowly and lasts longer.
ring 2 딜사제: 성전+ (Legendary ★6, skill 4) / healing priest: Wings+ (Legendary ★6, skill 2)
emblem Dilpriest: Flashy (Legend★6) / Heal Priest: Wisdom (Legend★6)

The same loadout sheet read across all three budget tiers, slot by slot. A cell marked "no source found" is a real gap in the research, not a missing entry.Full loadout: Priest

Reading the three budget tiers side by side is the part no single screenshot guide gives you: it shows what you wear on the way up, not just what you retire in.

Two swaps the table cannot express on its own:

  • Weapon. Besides Thousand Swords, the Korean sheet lists a magic-research rune — no English name is registered for it yet, so it appears as 마법 탐구자 in the raw data — which grants damage +7% stacking 3× on support and survival skill use, plus +5% damage on those skills outright. Priest’s skill list is almost entirely support and survival skills, so it meshes unusually well and is a legitimate DPS-priest alternative.
  • Cooldown axis for healers. Wonder+ (all skill cooldowns −8% on basic-attack hit) is the heal priest’s alternative when you would rather have turn rate than raw damage.

The armour split is a single slot. Heal priest runs Silver Spire (damage dealt +5%, stacking 3×, on healing an ally — obtained on Hell difficulty); DPS priest replaces it with the Brand of Ruin + Resonating Crystal pair, which only works as a pair.

What free-to-play Priest actually looks like

The accessories a non-paying player can assemble are Bond (skill 1) + Wheel (skill 3) + Crusade (skill 4) — the Korean sheet calls this “effectively a 1·3·4 set”, and the problem is visible immediately: Wings and Ray of Light are both epic-grade, so the free build is missing the healing core and the damage core at the same time.

That gap decides how to play it. Run free-to-play Priest as a secondary damage dealer who also heals, get the 1·3·4 rhythm smooth on elite-grade runes, and put your first epic into Wings — it is the common factor of both playstyles, so it can never be the wrong purchase. Level-30 skill enhancement follows the same logic: 2 first, 5 second, 3 third, with the top two waiting on epic runes to arrive.

One item worth naming: the Lv55 unique healing staff re-links to the lowest-health party member automatically every 5 seconds. That is genuinely helpful for a new healer who cannot track eight health bars yet — but S0 uniques cannot be enhanced and cannot take performance injection. It is a training wheel, not a graduation certificate.

Three data points from the Taiwan server

Composition. The community consensus for hard Glas Ghaibhleann is 6 damage dealers and 2 healers, and among healers Monk and Priest are preferred — Priest clears trash quickly and breaks fastest (player consensus).

Self-sufficiency. A 23,000-CP Priest cleared solo without drinking a single potion (player-reported). Among the healing classes this is the top of the range for survivability.

A warning about the CP number. In one board argument, a 22K Dancer out-damaged a 26K Priest in testing (player-reported), and the example gets cited whenever someone claims combat power measures strength. Priest stacks CP easily; converting that CP into damage requires actually keeping the support buff windows filled. The floor is very high, the ceiling wants hands.

Put together: high floor, high party value, ceiling gated on execution. In a server-wide meta that still runs two healers per hard raid, supply and demand favour Priest.

Reforge, gems and cards

Reforge follows the role, not the class:

  • DPS priest — support (damage increase) and smash (damage increase)
  • Heal priest — support (damage increase) and support (cooldown reduction)

Prism priority keeps recovery and critical roughly level. Upgrade cards go ATK → INT ≈ Luck, and every Will card slot should be re-rolled to Luck. Gem tags run toward support / smash / hinder, with support first — two independent sources agree on that ordering, and it does not conflict with the DPS-versus-heal reforge split above.

On mods: 1·3·5 (Bond axis) and 2·3·5 (Wings axis) are both written as legitimate on the Korean sheet — genuinely a preference. But if you followed the advice above and bought Wings first, 2·3·5 puts your pity purchase straight onto the level-30 enhancement list, which is why most players end up there.

The Korean server just cut this class

KR S2 preview KR Season 2 "Light and Dark" — live in Korea since 2026-06-25, not yet on the Taiwan server.

On 2026-08-12 Nexon Korea held an emergency livestream and said out loud that Priest was too strong, then announced a package of reductions (relayed by the community; treat the exact figures as pending the official patch note): skill damage down roughly 8%, bonus damage during Break down 50%, with skill 2 buffed about 15% as compensation. Alongside it, effects that block otherwise-lethal damage were capped — damage exceeding 200% of maximum HP can no longer be blocked, and the related immortality runes were reduced in the same pass.

Two things follow for a Taiwan-server player.

First, this is not your patch. The adjustment lands in Korea’s Season 2 environment, which began 2026-06-25. Taiwan is still in S0, with all of S1 in between. Nothing on this page has been reduced on the server this page describes.

Second, the direction is readable. Korea did not nerf Priest for being popular; it nerfed the specific ability to skip mechanics by refusing to die. Taiwan will eventually follow, and when it does this article gets a dated revision. Until then, the honest read is that levelling a Priest now buys you a playstyle that was verified strong for a full year — with a known expiry date rather than an unknown one.

Our verdict

Priest is Taiwan S0’s patch-dividend class: raid demand is high, it is self-sufficient solo, it has a year of Korean-server evidence behind it, and the correction is still a full major version away. If you are picking up a support class now, Priest has the highest expected value — put your epic budget entirely into Wings and let your emblem follow whichever seat you actually play.

The one caveat is about mindset rather than gear: you are playing a version that will be reined in. Cash the dividend while it exists.

A claim you can overturn: until Taiwan applies Korea’s August 2026 balance pass, Priest’s adoption rate in the healing slot of hard raids stays above Healer’s. If any week’s board-level party-formation tally shows Healer ahead, the supply-and-demand paragraph gets rewritten. The Healer side of that comparison is at the Healer build page; the cross-class power ranking is at /en/tierlist/.
