Bangor's first hour: no inn, three jobs before the mine

KR S1 preview KR Season 1 content — live in Korea since 2025-09-25, not yet on the Taiwan server.
Quick answer

Do not go straight down the mine. Restoring every goddess statue in Bangor pays a title with a held effect of +4 to five stats — no equipping needed, permanent, and the cheapest permanent number in the whole update. It takes the first hour. Then run the eight barter trades once each (most counted per character; an unused day is gone), and only then the mine. This town has no inn: the love-coin shop is in the tavern, the storage box in the bank. Stop looking for the inn icon.

Where this sits on the timeline

There is no English server yet, so nobody reading this can walk into Bangor today. It arrived on Korea’s server on 2025-06-19 with the Flash of the Wilderness update, and on Taiwan’s on 2026-09-09 — 447 days later. Whatever schedule an English launch follows, Bangor comes with the same package: the mining town, Gairech Hill between it and the fourth hunting ground, Cloud Wasteland, and two dungeons under the town. What follows is what the town is, and the order the Korean community wished it had used in that first week.

The town is laid out differently from the first three

Routing first.

Tir Chonaill, Dunbarton and Colhen each have an inn, and the inn holds the love-coin shop and the storage box. Bangor breaks the pattern: no inn. The tavern takes over the love-coin shop, storage is in the bank, and the church and healer are folded into one small building. The girl who stood on the cliff in the PC original now stands behind the bank.

That decides your route: tavern first (love-coin shop plus one barter), bank second (storage, with Ibbie’s barter nearby), the metal workshop and blacksmith last (three barters plus smithing).

North of town is something the original never had: a bean field and a few bird nests. Beans feed the tavern barter (Harvest Lv.10, sickle); eggs are a cooking ingredient. Neither existed on any earlier map, so today adds two “only source” gatherables.

Job one: the statues, because they are a title

Every region’s [Region Goal] panel carries a “goddess statue restoration” percentage. The statues are the altars at dungeon and hunting-ground entrances — the thing you place a pass on to enter.

Restore all of Bangor’s and the title is Hero of Bangor (班克爾的英雄) — the official name in Taiwan’s patch notes, which also state it carries a held effect in addition to its equipped one; the numbers are Korea’s title table: held effect Strength / Dexterity / Intelligence / Luck / Will +4 each, equipped effect Luck +20.

+4 sounds small until you price it. An enchant scroll’s extra “Strength” line rolls in the 12–17 band — but that is one stat, on one piece of gear, and it takes about 20 scrolls on average to land the specific line you want. This title gives five stats at once, occupies no gear slot, and involves no roll. It is the cheapest permanent number in the update, without exception.

The other meaning of the statues: on Korea’s server, the region goal at 100% unlocks the next map, Sen Mag Plateau. Taiwan did not open that map today, so the percentage currently serves only the title — but the door is already pushed. The region-goal article covers which cells to fill and which to leave.

Job two: eight barters, with official NPC names and counts

Taiwan’s patch notes (3541097) list Bangor’s barters one by one — eight lines, NPCs under their official names. A few are obvious skips:

  • Elen’s Metal Workshop (艾琳的金屬工坊): alloy steel ingot ×30 → silver alloy ingot ×1, per character, 1/day. Never. Thirty alloy steel ingots is ten batches of Lv.2 metalworking’s 4-hour output, for one ingot.
  • Elen’s Metal Workshop: special steel ingot ×3 → silver alloy ingot ×1, per character, 1/day. Take it — and it adds to, rather than replaces, the Colhen line at Armis’s that came back today (2 → 1, per account, 1/day). The four silver alloy lines has the arithmetic.
  • Edern’s Blacksmith (艾頓的鐵匠鋪): spicy sea bass soup ×1 → silver alloy ingot ×10, per character, 1/week. The richest line for anyone who can cook.
  • Jennifer’s Tavern (珍妮佛的酒館): soybeans ×10 → lean meat ×15, per character, 1/day. For cooks; soybeans grow north of town.
  • Gilmore’s General Store (吉爾摩的雜貨店): finest wood ×10 → finest silk ×5, per character, 1/day. Needs Lv.4 woodworking for the input, so most players cannot open it on day one.
  • Gilmore’s General Store: Life Mana Stone ×1 → Mine Mana Stone ×1 (per account, 5/day); Life Mana Stone ×1 → Wilderness Mana Stone ×1 (per account, 10/day). Old-map mana stones traded for the new maps’, which the mines’ and Cloud Wasteland’s wards consume.
  • Ibbie’s Quiet Hill (伊比的僻靜山丘): carefully prepared bouquet ×1 → fallen-leaf moth ×10, per character, 1/day.

Note what the list does not contain: the waterwheel. The Korean data’s two waterwheel lines (bruise-flower → bottle of water, classic wrapping paper → bouquet) are not in Taiwan’s notes, so where a bouquet comes from today is something to check beside Ibbie before planning the loop. Check what materials feed before you commit to walking it daily.

Job three is the mine

Both blocks are inside the town: Bari Block 1 opens off the square, Block 2 off the newly opened south-west cliff. They cost silver coins — ten per run — so finish the two free jobs above before deciding where the coins go. The Bari article has the level table and the first-clear ledger.

One thing people mix up

“Bangor” and “Bari” are two names for one place: the town is Bangor, the mine is Bari. Taiwanese players went looking for a “Bari dungeon” in some other city; it is beside the square. Korea had the same thread in its first week.

What to do now

  • Enter town → restore statues to 100% → take the title; it applies as a held effect.
  • Run all eight barters once; skip the 30→1 line forever; alts walk the per-character lines too.
  • Keep the silver for the mine’s first-clear quests instead of browsing the town.

What would overturn this: the title’s numbers and condition are Korean 2025-06 data, and the in-game title text wins if a server adjusts them; the barter counts and counting units are from patch notes 3541097, and in-game wins if it differs.
