Gairech Hill's first hour: no boss, value in ore and barter
✍️ Alice・愛麗沙
Gairech Hill is not a place to fight; it is a place to mine and trade. No field boss, no hunting-ground difficulty menu, so the answer to “what do I farm there” is: iron veins, coal veins, dark-cloud wool, and three daily barters at the dig site. In the first hour, walk one loop, mark the veins, run the barters, leave — its value is five minutes a day, not an hour.
Why this land gets skipped
It is not for fighting; it is for mining and trading on your way through — that is its whole position on the map, and the sentence to hold while reading.
The notice lists the three new lands side by side, as if equal. Korean players are precise about the roles: Bangor is the town, Cloud Wasteland the hunting ground, Gairech Hill the road between them. No boss, no difficulty, no holes; chapter 2 of the main story walks you through it, and most people never return. Korea’s first week went that way too — and in the second week, when the “short on iron” threads appeared, people walked back.
Never returning is the mistake. The reason is ore.
Veins: iron and coal, two things you used to barter for
One point in this section: it saves gear parts.
Up to the day before this update, Taiwan’s steadiest source of iron ore and coal was the Tir Chonaill blacksmith’s trade: disassembled gear parts → iron ore or coal, 10 a day. Wolf Forest has ore spots, but scattered across areas.
Gairech Hill turns that into a field:
| Sub-area | What is there | Note |
|---|---|---|
| The barrens (the PC original’s Reighinalt area) | ore vein, iron vein | the iron patch |
| Beside the goddess statue toward Cloud Wasteland | coal vein | on the way to the hunting ground |
| Dragon Ruins dig site | archaeology team, barter NPC | no gathering, barter only |
| East coast | new in the mobile game | no gatherables in the Korean record |
Do the sum. The blacksmith trade runs 10 a day, one part each; parts come from disassembling gear that could otherwise be sold or fed into promotion. Gairech Hill’s veins save those 10 parts — not more ore, but ore repriced from “one piece of gear” to “the time a pickaxe takes”. The metalworking chain (iron → steel → alloy steel → special steel) eats ore and coal at every step. Dark-cloud wool is this map’s own gatherable, a different item from Colhen’s curly-sheep wool; which recipe it feeds is filled in once the in-game catalogue’s acquisition tab shows it.
The dig site: three barters, one worth walking daily
The archaeology-team leader stands at the Dragon Ruins dig; two trades, each 3 a day (another Korean source says one of them is 1; the in-game NPC wins):
Bottle of water ×10 → classic wrapping paper ×1. Bottles come from Lv.1 daily gathering; the paper is the start of the Bangor waterwheel “bouquet chain”. The point of this line is not the paper but that it opens the three-NPC chain in the Bangor article.
Shawarma ×1 → fine bandage ×5. This is the good one. Fine bandages are the consumable for team dungeons and deep dungeons, and the shop price is not cheap; shawarma is a cooked dish. One plate for five bandages; three times a day is fifteen. If your cooking is levelled, this is the new barter most worth a place in the daily routine — the grocery-bill article prices daily bandage spend.

Volume = daily turns × output per turn, all KR-side data — TW's own slots are unannounced; the source column queries this site's item-uses index, so "none" states what is on record, not a proof of absence.Items
One thing people mix up
“Gairech Hill” is the name the server prints; PC veterans use older renderings or a Korean transliteration. Taiwan’s boards already carry three spellings, and searching the wrong one finds nothing. Use the official one.
What to do now
- When the main story walks you through, mark the iron and coal veins on the map, then mine once a day.
- If you cook, fill the shawarma line every day.
- Expect no boss and no holes: there are none; do not spend time waiting.
What would overturn this: sub-area layout and gatherables are Korea’s 2025-06 data — if a server removes a vein or adds a field boss, the in-game map wins; the two Korean sources disagree on the daily barter count (3 or 1), so only the number on the NPC screen counts.
