Ten things the patch notes add: Hard 9/14, compass, seals
✍️ Alice・愛麗沙
Two dates, one removal, one switch. The patch notes (3541097) add what the maintenance notice left out: ① field-boss Hard difficulty arrives 9/14 (Mon) 06:00 — enchant fragments sit in Hard’s slaying loot, so there are none this week; ② Abyss Hell 3 is scheduled for the same day; ③ Monster Slaying Proof → Distant Star Seal was sold until 9/9 06:00 and is gone; proofs now buy Large Chunk of Meat (100 proofs, once per account per week); ④ the Smart Magic Compass (智慧魔法羅盤) — once the compass appears and you do nothing, it counts down and moves on by itself, and the default “Normal” is already on. The other six are below: the cat merchant on every hunting ground, the emulsifier in the magic classroom, an enchant extra-effect value table, a new catalogue gear tier, Morrighan’s Blessing not blocking 200% hits, guild push notices. For an English reader with no server yet, this is the shape of a Wilderness patch-notes document: the notice names systems; the notes carry the dates.
Twelve lines against thirty thousand characters
Twelve against thirty thousand.
Taiwan’s maintenance notice on the evening of 9/8 listed twelve items, one line each. The patch notes posted at 11:30 when the server opened expand those twelve lines into more than thirty thousand characters, and several items the notice never mentioned at all. The morning’s twenty articles on this site were written from the notice; once the notes appeared, every one was checked against them — the differences are this article. Ordered by “changes what you do today”.
One. Field-boss Hard arrives 9/14; all four bosses are Normal-only this week
The notes: “Field-boss Hard difficulty will be added on 9/14 (Mon) at 06:00.”
Nobody knew this in the morning. The fourth-boss article built its decision tree on “if you can clear Hard, put all three slots on Hard” — which assumes Hard exists today. It does not; it waits for next Monday. The notes also print Hard’s slaying loot table:
| Category | Reward |
|---|---|
| Slaying loot (first kill each week) | Monster Slaying Proof, mystic dice key box, Enchant Scroll: Fox fragments, gold |
| Special loot (by chance) | Star Seal, unique-rarity gear, Large Chunk of Meat |
So enchant fragments and Star Seals from the field-boss route arrive no earlier than 9/14. This week’s three slots go to the three bosses the event scores.
Two. Abyss Hell 3, also 9/14
One sentence in the achievements section: “Abyss Hell 3 difficulty is scheduled to be added on 9/14 (Mon).”
Taiwan currently runs to Hell 2. Adding Hell 3 means the week’s top-difficulty reward moves up a tier. What to do this week is clear the Very Hard timed challenge — Hell tiers from 1 upward do not check the previous tier’s timed result, but Hell tiers open one at a time.
Three. Proofs for Star Seals: already over
The first table in the NPC-shop section has one row: “Distant Star Seal ×1 | sold until 9/9 (Wed) 06:00”. The shops are Duncan’s, Eavan’s and Kaylah’s.
It ended at the same moment maintenance began, so by the time anyone logged in it was gone. The 200-proof line in the Star Seal ledger no longer exists. Proofs gained a new outlet: Large Chunk of Meat (大塊肉), 100 proofs, once per account per week (Duncan’s adventurer support, the adventurer guild support centre, the dispatch shop and Kaylah’s mercenary office all carry it). The new source of Star Seals is field-boss Hard’s special loot from 9/14, by chance.
Eavan’s shop also starts taking Proof of Expedition today — one more place to spend Glas Ghaibhleann’s proofs; the weapon-box article ranks its three outlets.
Four. Smart Magic Compass: already on by default
This is the only item in the whole document that was neither announced nor left for you to switch on.
The rule: when a magic compass appears and there is no input for a while, a countdown starts and, at zero, the next step proceeds automatically. Three settings — Normal (default; waits a moment before counting), Fast (counts the instant it appears), Off. Location: [Menu] → [Settings] → [Game] → [Auto Proceed]. Applies to dungeons, weekday dungeons, deep dungeons, the Abyss, hunting grounds, field bosses, team dungeons and black holes. Conditions: the content must be set as a region quest with a shortcut; any movement or combat cancels it; on hunting grounds, targeting something like a summoning ward interrupts it.
What it changes is the break point of idle play: before, the whole flow stopped at the compass and waited for a tap. Now it does not. The “came back and found it stuck at the compass” cases no longer happen by default — and conversely, anyone who does not want auto-proceed has to turn it off themselves.
Five. The cat merchant moves: beside every hunting-ground campfire
The notes: “The cat merchant now also appears on every hunting ground, beside the campfire near the field boss, reachable by quick navigation.”
Until now the cat merchant stood only in dungeon area 3, so spending meow coins meant a dedicated dungeon trip. From today you can spend on the way out of a boss fight. New pack-shop goods:
| Item | Qty | Price | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wilderness Mana Stone (曠野的魔力石) | 10 | 50,000 meow coins | 3 per character per week, level 65 |
| Mine Mana Stone (礦山的魔力石) | 10 | 50,000 meow coins | 3 per character per week, level 65 |
| Sea bass (鱸魚) | 1 | 20,000 meow coins | 10 per character per week, level 65 |
Is the mana-stone line worth it? Gilmore’s General Store in Bangor opened Life Mana Stone 1 → Wilderness Mana Stone 1, 10 per account per day the same day (Mine Mana Stone 5 per day): 70 Wilderness and 35 Mine stones a week, paid only in old-map stones. The meow-coin line costs 5,000 each, 30 a week at most. Gilmore first; keep meow coins for sea bass — sea bass is the fish in the soup that pays silver alloy ingots.
Six. The emulsifier enters the magic classroom
Lisa’s and Stewart’s magic classrooms now sell Enhancement Elixir Emulsifier (強化秘藥乳化劑): 5 love coins each, 10 per account per week; 7,500 gold each, 20 per account per week. Thirty a week for 50 love coins plus 150,000 gold. The emulsifier feeds the enhancement-elixir line; the fixed-source table for catalysts gains this row.
Seven. The enchant extra-effect value table
The notes print the values of the twenty extra effects as one table: Strength / Dexterity / Intelligence / Luck / Will 17; armour break, damage reduction, smash enhancement, quick attack, chain enhancement, combo enhancement, skill power, skill speed, area enhancement, vital evasion, critical, pursuit, recovery, ultimate 22; extra HP 67. Single values, not ranges — the Korean table quoted in the enchant-rules article gives bands of 12–17, 17–22 and 62–67; Taiwan’s notes print each line’s top value. Odds unchanged from the notice: 0–2 lines at equal odds, each line at equal odds.
For scale against titles: Hero of Bangor pays +4 to all five stats at once, no slot; one enchant line’s Strength is 17, but landing that specific line takes 20 scrolls on average (the extra-effect ledger).
Eight. The catalogue gains a gear tier: Attack 1940–2232
“A catalogue list will be added for gear of the tier containing weapons of Attack 1940–2232.” Taiwan’s top tier until yesterday was the Abyss-accessory tier (the 1940 cell); today the catalogue opens one tier above, matching Bangor’s blacksmith and the new magic-craft recipes — the line silver alloy feeds. The gear ceiling at 65 moves up one cell from today, but read the catalogue’s acquisition tab first; do not dismantle what you wear.
Nine. Morrighan’s Blessing cannot block 200% damage
“Immobilising effects cannot block damage exceeding 200% of maximum HP. Applies to: Morrighan’s Blessing (茉麗安的加護).” The reason is stated plainly: in the main dungeons, players were using it to ignore boss wipe mechanics. So from today boss wipe mechanics are dodged by the rules, and the Blessing is kept for ordinary damage. Any 9/21 Succubus guide that says “pop the Blessing and eat it” describes the pre-patch game.
Ten. Guild push, coupon character choice, PC UI scale
- Guild notice changes show in region chat; they can be pushed to all members with a 12-hour cooldown; the member list shows the representative character’s name; notification settings gain a guild-push toggle.
- Coupons can now choose the receiving character — previously the logged-in character received.
- PC client gains UI scale presets: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100%.
- Pet feed can go in shared storage; crafting and facility UIs gain search and a “go to facility” button; life-skill level-ups list the newly opened gatherables, recipes, alchemy and fishing spots in the system message.
Three things the notes confirm without a number
Life-skill caps: the notes say only “some life-skill caps will be expanded”, no figure; processing facilities and crafting stations to Lv.4 is confirmed. Lightning Mage: not one skill coefficient in the whole document — only weapon prices (Disc Coil 3,000 gold), the emblem shop and Molly’s items; the first-six-weeks article works from the event and shop numbers. Mas Deep: entry at level 65 only; no combat-power gate.
One thing people mix up
“If the patch notes do not mention it, it did not change” — wrong; the “convenience and labelling improvements” section carries twenty-odd more small fixes, and this article only picks the ones that change today’s route. The reverse is also wrong: “if the notice says it, it exists” — the notice’s “free character slot” struck itself out, and it is naturally absent from the notes too.
What to do now
- This week field bosses are Normal only: slots to the event’s three, last hit on Drochenem.
- Note two things for 9/14 06:00: boss Hard opens, Hell 3 opens.
- Settings → Game → Auto Proceed: decide whether the compass runs Normal, Fast or Off.
- Proofs buy Large Chunk of Meat; leave Proof of Expedition alone until you have read the weapon-box article.
- Mana stones through Gilmore; meow coins for sea bass.
What would overturn this: the two 9/14 items are worded “will be added” and “scheduled” — if a later notice moves them, sections one and two follow it; the weekly counts on the emulsifier and mana stones follow the in-game shop; if the enchant value table shows in-game as ranges rather than single values, section seven’s “top value” reading changes.
